In a bit to promote safer internet usage, Instagram has rolled out a feature that will now allow you to bulk delete posts, comments, and other activity from the platform.
The features will be available in a new section of users’ profiles called ”your activity.” The goal, according to Instagram, is to make it easier to revisit and delete past interactions.
The ‘My Activity’ option on Instagram will be a hub for a user to check out the new features. It will show you multiple options such as time spent on the app, photos and videos, Interactions, account history, recent searches, links you have visited, and more. This option will be available in the upper right corner of your profile.
With the new Instagram bulk delete feature, users don’t have to go through every post to take an action like comment, delete.
Earlier, the company introduced a ‘Security checkup’ for people whose accounts may have been hacked. Now, this feature is available to everyone worldwide.
Security checkup guides people through the steps needed to secure their account including checking login activity, reviewing profile information, confirming the accounts that share login information, and updating account recoveries contact information such as a phone number or email address.
The app has come under renewed pressure to create more safety features for younger people in recent months and making it easier to remove past activity could be seen as one way to “depressurize” the app.
