WhatsApp has been consistently rolling out updates that will enhance the functionality of the app, and more updates are still in development, some of which include “Voice note Everywhere”, “Payment with Novi Integration”, and “Multi-device support”.
Another update has been cited which is still in development, but I’m sure you’ll like to know what the update contains.
New Drawing Tools:
WhatsApp is planning to add two new different pencils to draw on your images and videos. The icons indicate that the new pencils could offer broader tips, allowing you to draw or scribble thicker lines on images or videos.
According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp currently allows users to change the pencil color but there’s no option to increase/decrease its thickness. With this new tool, there is a possibility that you’ll be able to blur images on Android and iOS once the feature is rolled out.
This should make sharing screenshots and photos easier, as you can blur out the sensitive parts before sending them.
As we said, this feature is still in development, and no word yet on when it will be rolling out
WhatsApp Business Collections
One of the features available to businesses is the ability to create catalogs. A catalog contains products and services that businesses can offer to customers. When customers choose a product from the catalog, they can contact the business to ask for more information, or they can even share the product with other contacts.
With the new feature, you can group similar products and services in a collection.
A collection contains products and services of the same category, so customers can easily find them by browsing the proper collection since they are organized better.
How to Create Collections
Before you create a collection, you have to add items to your catalog. Once you’ve done that, you can create collections to organize your catalog items.
- Open the WhatsApp Business app.
- Click More
|
at the top of your chatlist > Catalog > Add new collection. - Enter a name for your collection.
- Select the catalog items that you’d like to include in this collection.
- Click Done

When the moderation team approves your collection, other people (other businesses and customers) can see the collection in the catalog by opening Business Info.
If you are using WhatsApp business, update your app so that the new feature can be visible.
