WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that will make your usage of the chat app more secure, hence protecting your privacy.
This new feature makes it impossible for strangers to see when you were last online. In a new update from WhatsApp support, it stated that those you haven’t chatted with or don’t know won’t be able to see your online presence or your last seen.
What this means is that even though the “stranger” is using third-party WhatsApp to stalk you, they won’t be able to see your online presence or last seen.
Earlier in September, it was rumored that an update is coming that will allow you to hide your “last seen” status from some specific people. It is a privacy feature that users have been expecting for a very long time.
When this feature is released, WhatsApp users will be able to hide profile information such as “Profile Picture”, “Last Seen”, and “About” from specific contacts. Already rolling out to a few beta testers on iOS, we are expecting it to roll out in full.
The new update is rolling out gradually to beta testers on Android and iOS, just update your WhatsApp to see if the update is active for you.
Nice update from WhatsApp
