The most anticipated phone of the year has been launched, Google Pixel 6 and 6 pro.
Google says the latest Pixel devices offer improved performance, better battery life, new camera capabilities, and the best security hardware available in a smartphone.
Google’s new Pixel devices are the first to ship with Android 12 and Google’s in-house tensor chip.
Internal Specification
The Pixel 6 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, and the Pixel 6 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with 120Hz variable refresh rate. Both the smartphones are powered by Google Tensor SoC with support for 5G, and come with Titan M2 Security chip.
Both devices run Android 12 out of the box, and Google has confirmed that starting with Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Pixels will receive security updates for at least 5 years, but OS updates is atleast 3 years.
The Pixel 6 features 8GB of RAM and is available in 128GB and 256GB storage configurations, while the Pixel 6 Pro offers 12GB of RAM and adds an option for 512GB of storage.
Cameras
Both the phones feature a new 50-megapixel camera with Samsung GN1 sensor. There is a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. Pixel 6 Pro features a telephoto lens with 4× optical zoom and up to 20× zoom with Google’s updated Super Res Zoom feature.
The camera system of the Pixel 6 range boasts powerful new features, including Google’s “Magic Eraser” and “Face Unblur”.
Magic Eraser allows users to remove unwanted objects, or people, from photographs. “Face Unblur” primes a secondary camera lens during motion shots to improve the clarity of faces within these photographs.
The phones have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front, the Pixel 6 Pro also has a Gorilla Glass Vicus protection on the back, and the Pixel 6 replaces this with Gorilla Glass 6. These have IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
