On June 24th Windows 11 was made official and among the announcement made was that Windows 11 users would be able to install Android apps from the Amazon Appstore on their PCs.
Someone asked that does that means that you’ll be able to play your favorite Android game on PC? Well, we are about to find out.
Microsoft refused to deal with Google, hence you won’t be seeing Google Playstore on Windows, but decided to strike a deal with Amazon to bring Amazon App store to Windows 11 where you can download android apps.
According to PCMag, One of Microsoft employee says the operating system will be able to run sideloaded apps, too, in a bid to give Windows 11 users as many options as possible.
Sideloading Android apps on other devices aren’t something difficult if you are an ardent user of Android. You can obtain the direct apk files and ship them to the device you which to install it. Initially, the fear was that Windows 11’s support for Android apps would only be limited to Amazon Appstore, but one of Microsoft distinguished Engr has clarified that Windows 11 run APKs obtained from outside the Amazon Appstore.
If you have already installed the new Windows on your system, then count yourself lucky, if not you’ll have to wait till when it is officially released to the public for upgrading. Windows 10 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 in late 2021 at best, or more likely – early 2022.
Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 will be completely free. However, in other news, Microsoft has released its first Windows 11 preview build today. Windows Insiders can download the Windows 11 preview (build 22000.51) right now.
