The Redmi Note series is Xiaomi’s bread and butter, shipping loads of units since the first device launched back in 2014. One of the most popular devices in this range is the Redmi Note 8, and Xiaomi has now officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 2021 is coming.
The new teaser shows a waterdrop notch, the same as the Note 9. It also said that the global Redmi Note 8 sales have crossed 25 million. Last year in May the company said that the combined sales of the Redmi Note 8 series were 30 million.
According to the few rumors we’ve heard so far from the XiaomiUI Telegram group, the new Redmi Note 8 2021 will feature a 120Hz IPS LCD screen, a MediaTek Helio G85 processor (in line with the Redmi Note 9), a 4,000mAh battery, and 22.5W charging. The group also expects the new phone to pack a 48MP quad-camera setup (main, ultra-wide, tele-macro, depth), and 4GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB storage options. It will likely come with an FHD+ screen.
At the moment, no word on what the phone will look like in terms of design, but we are expecting the price to be pocket-friendly.
