Google Play Music Finally Deleted, But You Can Still Move your Music Library

Last year August 2020, Google announced that it will discontinue Google Play Music on February 24, 2021, meaning that all your music library with any uploads, purchases, and anything you’ve added from Google Play Music will be deleted.

Now, Google Play Music services have finally been replaced with YouTube Music. When you open the app from your phone, you’ll now get “Google Play Music is no longer available but you can still transfer your library to YouTube Music”.

An earlier email reads: “On February 24, 2021, we will delete all of your Google Play Music data,” an email to Google Play Music users reads. “This includes your music library with any uploads, purchases, and anything you’ve added from Google Play Music. After this date, there will be no way to recover it.”

If you are yet to move your Music library to YouTube Music you can simply do that now before the option will be deleted forever.

Google Play Music launched in May 2011 and ended in February 2021. YouTube Music is a new music streaming service made for music: official songs, albums, thousands of playlists, and artist radio.

You can get your grooves back on with YouTube Music.
