Google is finally rolling out the Android 11 stable version to Pixel phones, after a series of developers previews and beta updates.
As expected, Google’s line of Pixel phones will be the very first to see the update. All Pixel phones (aside from the very first Google Pixel and Pixel XL) are eligible for the upgrade. That also includes the Google Pixel 3a and Google Pixel 4a.
If you own a Pixel phone, you should see a notification soon asking you to install Android 11. If you just can’t wait to give the new Android a try, you can always manually install it using Google’s browser-based tool.
In Android 11 all the conversations across multiple messaging apps are moved to a dedicated space in the notification section. It also introduces Bubbles, a new feature to help you respond and engage with important conversations without switching back and forth between your current task and the messaging app.
In addition, when you type using Gboard in Android 11, you’ll get relevant and automatic suggestions for emoji and text.
It also brings a built-in screen recording feature finally. You can now quickly access and control your smart devices in one place by long pressing on the power button. There are also new media controls, making it quick and convenient to switch the device your audio or video content is playing on.
When Will Other Phones Receive it?
Xiaomi confirmed that Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro users who signed up for the beta software program will be the first to get Android 11 updates. This applies to both the Chinese and global variants. Oppo also confirmed that the first public beta of Color OS based on Android 11 will be available for the Find X2 and Reno 3 Pro series.
OnePlus also confirmed that the first Oxygen OS 11 open beta is rolling out today to the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.
Android 11 factory images are available from Android developer website here and OTA images here. Other OEMs should confirm the list of phones that will get Android 11 soon.
We’ll try as much as we can to compile a list of all the devices that will be getting the latest Android… stay put.
