It is no longer news that a lot of subscribers experiences massive mobile data depletion without any major downloads.
Most subscribers’ complaints about Airtel and MTN illegally deducting there data which is yet to be fixed as at the time of writing. Some couples of weeks ago, MTN gave reasons why data get exhausted on time on user’s smartphone.
However, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given subscribers the major reasons why data get depleted all the time on their smart devices.
According to NCC, “the reasons for the rise in data consumption and depletion, which is classified by some users as ‘illegal deduction’, include the advancement in technology, which has led to the rise in applications, updates and services that leverage on this technology and advancement of supportive data infrastructure.”
Others, according to him, are increase in video-based advertising content by social media companies which in some cases are layered on free services offered by the companies; auto updates of apps on the phone over mobile data network without any sort of prompting or intervention by the user of the mobile phone.

I don’t think so, during glo 1gb 200 naira era, I was using it to watch three straight movies of 1:30 one hour minutes, including downloading to the moon. But now is zapping but it’s controlled unlike other network, their zapping is spiritual. Glo is still the best.
If data is cheap no one would complain.

Thats not true! I use etisalat when i am out because the network is stronger when i am out and it doesnt zap data like my mtn. All auto updates are paused, no streaming but before you know it , 3.75GB gone with the wind.
Even still MTN and Airtel data are not legit at all
