Instagram Introduces Time Limits

Finally we have this feature as promised Earlier in August by Instagram. Atleast it will help to curb your social media addiction.

The social network will now give users a dashboard so they can see how much time they’re spending on it. What’s more, they can curb their usage by adding a time limit. Both Instagram and its parent company Facebook said back in August they would introduce these tools in response to calls about the addictive nature of social media.

Social media is very addictive and if you are not careful, it will drive you insane.

Apple and Google have introduced similar dashboards into iOS and Android so that users can take more control of how they use apps. It’s been proven over and over again that repeated social media use is not always good for you.

For many people, being able to place a limit on their browsing could help them break the Instagram habit.

How to Place a Limit on Your Daily Access to Instagram

Go to the ‘hamburger’ menu – those three horizontal lines – inside the app and click into the ‘Your Activity’ option. You can set daily time limits or mute notifications for a select time to give yourself a bit of a break from the ‘gram.

Facebook itself hasn’t yet delivered its own version of the dashboard, but we should expect it to come at some point in the near future.

Limiting the likes of Facebook and Instagram to 10 minutes a day could be beneficial for your mental health says experts.
