YouTube has released a list of devices that are best for watching videos on its platform. The list is pretty short but includes the popular flagships from this year and the last.

According to YouTube, the below devices are said to support the following technologies – HDR, 360° video, 4K decoding, high frame rate, digital rights management performance and next-gen codecs like VP9.

The list consists of 18 smartphones from Samsung, LG, OnePlus, HTC, Huawei, Xiaomi, Google and Nokia.

Below is the list of YouTube’s signature devices:

Samsung Galaxy S9+

Samsung Galaxy Note8

Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8+

  5. so the likes of Infinix, Gionee, Techno etc don’t support HDR, 4k decoding, 360°video, VP9 hmm.
    I think is high time they seat up

  8. Morning prof, I know it does not correlate with the topic but Please I would like your opinion on this, I want to get a new high end device but I really don’t know which one to go for between

    Huawei 9n
    Samsung A6/A6+
    Samsung j8
    And pls if anyone have a better device that’s not that costly kindly name them. Thanks
