Xiaomi Redmi S2 Finally Launched With Face Unlock Feature

Xiaomi Redmi S2 has been launched and the spec is not far fetched from the rumored specifications we posted earlier.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 sports a 5.99” screen with HD+ resolution. There are no buttons or sensors on the front – the fingerprint scanner is sitting on the back, while the UI navigation is done via onscreen keys.

The Redmi S2 is powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset and runs MIUI 9 over the latest available stable Android version – 8.1 Oreo. The SoC has an octa-core CPU, clocked at 2.0 GHz and Adreno 506 GPU.

The Redmi S2 packs a AI-assisted 16 MP selfie snapper with LED flash. The rear setup is the same 12 MP + 5 MP combo with EIS that we saw on the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 comes 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage with dedicated MicroSD card slot.

The smartphone comes with a FingerPrint ID sensor and also Face unlock. Battery wise, it is fueled by 3080mAh battery capacity.

It will be priced at $160 (N57600) for the 3GB Ram and $204 (N73440) for the 4GB Ram.

  1. The price isn’t bad except for the battery which is not encouraging at all. Spec wise, its ok to me

  2. Still don’t know why this low end user phone manufacturers are not competing with the bigger guys. Just look at this device, it has everything that one could possibly need.

  3. Xiaomi is really trying. I’m currently using their Redmi Note 4x and I can say their products live up to expectations. I just do hope that they don’t tarry before they bring their service/ customer service centre to Nigeria
