    • Manually unrooting your phone in most cases doesn't completely remove root. There are some new files that are pushed into the phone's system once you successfully root it especially with oneclick rooting methods like Kingo, Kingroot, iroot etc.

If you want to completely and safely unroot so as to enable you install updates, you should consider flashing some core parts of the stock ROM of the rooted device. Most Android 5.1 MTK phones with new chipset have a feature in recovery that checks if the device has ever been rooted. If it has,it won't allow any upgrades or installation unless you unroot properly. There are so many cases of bricked Infinix Hot 2, Tecno Boom J8, Tecno J5,Tecno Droidpad, Phantom 5,Gionee 5.1 phones, even Itel etc that was unrooted but got bricked after installing an update. Even a 2mb OTA update will brick your device if its not properly unrooted. To stay safe and prepare for the coming of Nougat or any new update especially on compatible devices, please take your time and data to download the exact stock(the current one you are running)ROM of your device{mtk mostly} and flash the core portions like 'system'and 'recovery' via SP Flashtool or the relevant tool. If using SP flash tool, Don't format, just download it so as not to loose your data. (Backup is necessary though). You can then boot into recovery using volume and power button combos, then check system for root.
If its successful, you can download and upgrade your device without any issue. If you don't follow my advice, you would go through some hectic moments after downloading and upgrading(Result is bootloop or unable to turn on). To enjoy the most of your device, always unroot properly before updating the phone. Android is always Upgrading. And always give your phone enough time to bootup after a successful upgrade.

  3. @Kolawole, It will be available for Camon C8 but will take a longer period.

@Freshwhite… I doubt if infinix will release it for note 2.

@Anonymous, since you've unrooted, then you are good to go. Just make sure you don't have installed on your device custom recovery.
