How to Root Tecno Boom J5 in Minutes

Tecno Boom J5 is one of the craziest device Tecno launched
some times ago but a lot of users of this device has been unable to root this
smartphone. All credit goes to Team Hovatek for this guide.

Requirements 
==>PC with enabled internet
connection
==>Patience in following
==>SP Flash tool 

How Can I
root Tecno Boom J5? 
==>Download SuperSU.zip  here  and save it to your phone’s
SD card
==>Download the ported 
TWRP for Tecno boom J5 by Team Hovatek here
==> Unzip the TWRP zip file
and flash the recovery image to the phone using Sp flash tool ( You can
download SP Flashtool here)

How Can I
Flash it Using SP Flashtool?
Please see guide here

==>Boot the phone into TWRP
recovery mode (by Holding the Vol Up  and Power button for 5 seconds)
==>In TWRP recovery, Choose
install zip from sdcard- to Choose zip from sdcard use vol up and down scroll
up and down then choose the Supersu.zip file from the root of your sdcard.
Scroll to yes and install, after
a successful flashing go back and reboot.

You are now rooted! To be fully sure
your Tecno Boom J5 is rooted, go  straight to Google Playstore and
download root checker to verify your root
status.

  5. then how can one change the imei of d j5 cos av tried it with mobile uncle i couldn't find d mtk part just look like when u put d mobile uncle in a Samsung phone u can only see android but not d mtk option .pls help or is it because I didn't root d j5 that's why I didn't c d mtk option

  8. Prof Yomi….I ve been buying from Aliexpress for some time now, and I noticed that additional amount is charged when ever I make a purchase .. For instance, if I buy something of 20k additional 2k will be deducted and I keep wondering if it alibaba or diamond bank is doing the deduction…. That is to say that for every purchase of 1thousand nair, 100 naira will be deducted. Is it normal or is there something I have to do to stop that?. I use my ATM card

    • its's absolutely abnormal… and those charges are coming from your bank Diamond bank. And I want to believe it's traceable to dollar to naira exchange rate as all bank charges are not thesame.

      You can download the latest version of KingRoot, it will root your Boom J5 an auto aumatically installed King User on your device which you can replace with Super User.
